CVS Names Rosemary Mede Senior Vice President, Human Resources.


WOONSOCKET, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 7,1997--CVS Corporation has named Rosemary Mede Senior Vice President, Human Resources.

Mede will assume overall responsibility for all Human Resources functions including organizational development, recruitment, employee relations, training, compensation and benefits administration. She replaces Aldwin Jolly, who is retiring. Mede will report to Thomas M. Ryan, president and chief executive officer of CVS/pharmacy.

"Rosemary brings a wealth of experience and a record of accomplishment to the CVS organization," said Ryan. "We are in a very dynamic industry, and the companies that succeed will be those best equipped to manage rapid, large-scale change. Rosemary will play a vital role in ensuring CVS's organizational capabilities are second to none."

Prior to joining CVS, Mede held the positions of Vice President/General Manager, Business Services and Corporate Vice President of Human Resources for Becton, Dickinson and Company, of Franklin Lakes, N.J. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois and has an MBA from the University of Chicago.

CVS is one of the nation's leading drugstore chains with nearly 4,000 stores in 24 states and the District of Columbia. Sales for 1996 exceeded $11 billion.
