Company Praises Prime Vantage(TM) Flexible, Open

Architecture for Ease of Integration

Prime Response Inc., a marketing automation solutions provider offering the leading campaign management software, recently announced that CVS (1) (Concurrent Versions System) A version control system for Unix that was initially developed as a series of shell scripts in the mid-1980s. CVS maintains the changes between one source code version and another and stores all the changes in one file.  Corporation is using the Prime Vantage(TM) software to deliver customized marketing promotions in three test markets. CVS, the largest drugstore retailer in the U.S., is using Prime Vantage campaign management software to deliver customer-specific coupons and health updates through its monthly mailings to targeted customer segments.

To deliver market-specific promotional campaigns and provide enhanced reporting functionality, CVS developed and implemented a customer-level data warehouse and works with numerous vendor partners to create monthly mailings that feature precise customization -- including coupons and updates on customer-defined interests such as health, beauty, nutrition, etc. CVS credits Prime Vantage's flexible, open architecture with integrating easily with its Oracle database and HP-UX HP's version of Unix that runs on its 9000 family. It is based on SVID and incorporates features from BSD Unix along with several HP innovations.
