CVS Corporation Reports 14.0% Increase In November Same Store Sales.WOONSOCKET, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--December 3, 1998--CVS Corporation (NYSE:CVS) today announced that same store sales for the four weeks ended November 21, 1998 increased 14.0% over the prior year period. Pharmacy same store sales rose 19.0%. Total pharmacy sales represented 60% of total company sales for November 1998 versus 57% in the prior year period. Total sales for the four-week period ended November 21, 1998 increased 17.5% to $1.2 billion, compared to $1.1 billion in the prior year period. Year-to-date, same store sales for the forty-seven week period ended November 21, 1998 increased 10.5% over the prior year period, while pharmacy same store sales increased 16.2%. Total sales for the forty-seven week period increased 10.5% to $13.5 billion, compared to $12.3 billion in 1997. On a stand-alone basis, CVS' same store sales advanced 15.5% in November, while Revco's increased 13.6%. Year-to-date, CVS' same store sales rose 12.1%, while Revco's increased 8.9%.
