Notes:
This statistic allows investors to determine what portion of new sales has come from sales growth and what portion from the opening of
 increased 9.2%, while pharmacy same store sales rose 16.9%.

Total sales for the five-week period ended April 1, 2000 increased 12.2% to $1.837 billion, compared to $1.638 billion in the prior year period. Total pharmacy sales represented 63% of total company sales in March.

Year-to-date, same store sales for the thirteen-week period ended April 1, 2000 increased 8.8% over the prior year period, while pharmacy same store sales increased 15.2%. Total sales for the thirteen-week period increased 11.8% to $4.739 billion, compared to $4.240 billion in 1999.

As of April 1, 2000, CVS operated 4,078 stores in 27 states and the District of Columbia District of Columbia, federal district (2000 pop. 572,059, a 5.7% decrease in population since the 1990 census), 69 sq mi (179 sq km), on the east bank of the Potomac River, coextensive with the city of Washington, D.C. (the capital of the United States). .
