CVRx(R) Adds Joseph P. Slattery to Board of Directors.


MINNEAPOLIS -- CVRx, Inc., a private medical device company, today announced that it has elected Joseph P. Slattery as a member of its board of directors. Slattery will chair the audit committee. His position expands the board to eight directors.

"Joe is a significant addition to the CVRx board, and we're excited to work with him," said Nadim Yared, CVRx president and chief executive officer. "Joe brings skills in managing rapid growth, as well as extensive financial and accounting experience, particularly with emerging medical and diagnostic companies. His insights will be valuable as we continue to build the company and work towards commercialization of our Rheos([R]) System."

Slattery brings more than 20 years of experience to CVRx. He is currently on the boards of Micromet, a biopharmaceutical company, and TranS1, a medical device company. He served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Digene Corporation, a molecular diagnostics company focused on women's health Women's Health Definition

Women's health is the effect of gender on disease and health that encompasses a broad range of biological and psychosocial issues.
, which was acquired in July 2007. He joined Digene in 1996 as controller prior to its initial public offering, was appointed senior vice president of finance and information systems in 2002, and promoted to chief financial officer in October 2006.
