CVRD Inco's new COO.

CVRD Inco has appointed Parviz Farsangi as the company's new chief operating officer. Farsangi will replace Mark Cutifani who has taken the chief executive operating position with AngloGold Ashanti in South Africa.

Almost five years ago, Farsangi was the general manager of the Sudbury mines/mill business for Falconbridge before leaving for Gramercy Alumina in Louisiana and Jamaica.

His new role will be leading the operations of CVRD Inco's wholly owned subsidiaries. Reporting to him will be Fred Stanford, president of the Ontario division, Mike Sylvestre, president of the Manitoba division, Bob Cooper, president of Voisey's Bay Nickel Company Ltd., Dale Krueger, production director of Inco Europe Ltd. and Tyler Mitchelson, vice president of business planning.
