Outlook: The Falcons should be one of the strongest teams in Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region, . They are led by the UCLA-bound Greco, whom Cal-Hi considers one of the state's top five players. Outlook: Aghakhanians and Markari (12.3 ppg) were all-league honorable mention last season and lead an experienced group. The Dynamiters have four seniors and three juniors but will have to adjust to the loss of Victoria Oganyan (17.4 ppg, 4.5 apg). Rebounding will be the key.

HOOVER

Coach: Jenny Cervantez (1st season).

1996-97 record: 2-8 in league.

Top returnees: F Narineh Tatoussian, G Razan Ezzeddin, G Linette Hartounian, C Amanda Hinajosa, F Ani Ahronian.

Outlook: First-year coach Cervantes expects the Tornadoes to be well-conditioned, quick and aggressive. Tatoussian (5-6) and Hinajosa (5-9) are seniors.
