Some of the candy-colored fashions seen on the red carpet could have been inspired by the palette winner Milena Canonero used in her designs for "Marie Antoinette Marie Antoinette (ăntwənĕt`, äNtwänĕt`), 1755–93, queen of France, wife of King Louis XVI and daughter of Austrian Archduchess Maria Theresa and Holy Roman Emperor Francis I. ." Canonero is no stranger to Oscar, having been nominated nom·i·nate tr.v. nom·i·nat·ed, nom·i·nat·ing, nom·i·nates 1. To propose by name as a candidate, especially for election. 2.
