CUSD Foundation Hires Executive Director; Nick Alivojvodic Has Been Named as Executive Director.


SAN CLEMENTE San Clemente (săn klĭmĕn`tē), city (1990 pop. 41,100), Orange co., S Calif., on the Pacific coast; inc. 1928.  Foundation (CUSDF) announced today that the foundation has hired Nick Alivojvodic as the foundation's new executive director. Alivojvodic has a proven track record in the non-profit sector The nonprofit sector, also called the third sector, civic sector or voluntary sector, is a third area of an economy, distinct from the public sector and the private sector.  Foundation's board voted him in to start Nov. 1.

"The Foundation is very excited about having Nick on board," said CUSD Foundation President Blake Stephens. "The foundation has experienced tremendous growth in the past 11 years and a lot of people have spent countless hours in our efforts to support local schools, but we really see a need for leadership and total focus and concentration on the Foundation. We have really lucked out and we are excited about the Foundation's future with Nick on board."

Alivojvodic is charged with heading CUSD Foundation's operations, grant writing and research, fundraising, communicating the foundations message and needs and all financial documentation. At the most recent board meeting, he mentioned extending the Foundation's scholarship program for teachers and students, one of the most well-known programs of the Foundation.

"I have a true love for community work," said Alivojvodic. "The Capistrano School District has such potential to compete with surrounding school districts such as Irvine and Laguna Beach Laguna Beach (ləg`nə), city (1990 pop. 23,170), Orange co., S Calif., on the Pacific coast; founded 1887, inc. 1927.  that I am thrilled at the challenge to engage our community in consistently contributing to our schools as a way to safeguard South County's way of life. I want to make a difference in our area and this position gives me that opportunity."
