CURTIS NERVOUS ABOUT RETURN.

VILLA defender Curtis Davies admits he is already wondering what sort of reception he will get at The Hawthorns next season.

Davies confirmed he plans to work every day during the summer to try and be fit for the start of the new campaign.

And he believes he will be a stronger player when he makes his return to first team action.

But the on-loan Davies knows he is likely to have to prepare himself for a return to former club Albion in Villa colours at some stage following the expected completion of his pounds 10 million transfer across the West Midlands.

Davies is sidelined with the ruptured Achilles he suffered at Arsenal this season. But he insists he wants to be fit again by August as he prepares for the intensity of regaining full fitness.

And the prospect of going back to Albion as a Villa player has already got him thinking after the reaction of Hawthorns fans at the start of the season when it was clear he would be leaving the club.

"During pre-season I was still a Baggies player and I got booed against Herenveen in a friendly," said Davies.

"So if I was getting booed by my own fans I don't know what it would be like coming back with Villa. It'll be interesting to see what the reception is like. But my reasons for leaving were right, I've achieved what I wanted. The Albion players will always be good mates."
