VILLA defender Curtis Davies Curtis Eugene Davies (born March 15, 1985 in Leytonstone, London) is an English professional footballer who plays as a central defender. He currently plays for Aston Villa, on loan from West Bromwich Albion, which after the 2007-08 season, will result in a £9,000,000 permanent admits he is already wondering what sort of reception he will get at The Hawthorns next season. Davies confirmed he plans to work every day during the summer to try and be fit for the start of the new campaign. And he believes he will be a stronger player when he makes his return to first team action. But the on-loan Davies knows he is likely to have to prepare himself for a return to former club Albion in Villa colours at some stage following the expected completion of his pounds 10 million transfer across the West Midlands West Midlands, former metropolitan county, central England. Created in the 1974 local government reorganization, the county embraced the Birmingham conurbation and comprised seven metropolitan districts: Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, Birmingham, Solihull, . Davies is sidelined with the ruptured rup·ture n. 1. a. The process or instance of breaking open or bursting. b. The state of being broken open. 2. A break in friendly relations. 3. Pathology a. Achilles he suffered at Arsenal this season. But he insists he wants to be fit again by August as he prepares for the intensity of regaining full fitness. And the prospect of going back to Albion as a Villa player has already got him thinking after the reaction of Hawthorns fans at the start of the season when it was clear he would be leaving the club. "During pre-season I was still a Baggies player and I got booed against Herenveen in a friendly," said Davies. "So if I was getting booed by my own fans I don't know what it would be like coming back with Villa. It'll be interesting to see what the reception is like. But my reasons for leaving were right, I've achieved what I wanted. The Albion players will always be good mates." CAPTION(S): CURTIS DAVIES |
