 middle school and high school students are attending performances of ``The Merchant of Venice'' this week at the Palmdale Playhouse.

 performances for school groups are presented by Los Angeles-based Will & Company as part of the theater's 10th annual Shakespeare Festival.

Will & Company will perform the play for the general public at 7 p.m. Saturday.
