The $13 billion Americans spent on Valentine's Day in 2004 doesn't hold a candle to the $220 billion they spent for the winter holidays, according to the National Retail Federation. Still, the single day of romance is a boost for a range of businesses.

Valentine's Day is the second most popular holiday for cards and the fourth most popular for candy sales Candy Sale is an episode in the fictional animated series Beavis and Butt-head.
