The picnic is intended to help people from different backgrounds meet and get to know and understand one another better, organizers said. The first picnic was organized in 1995 as a way to reduce crime, said David Hong, one of the founders. ``Once you know me, you're not going to hurt me,'' Hong explained. ``America - We are the world.
