CUH2A Receives Two NJASLA Awards.PRINCETON, N.J. -- CUH2A CUH2A Collins Uhl Hoisington Anderson Azmy (founding partners of Princeton, NJ architecture engineering & planning firm) received two 2008 Design Awards from the New Jersey Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects The American Society of Landscape Architects is the national professional association representing landscape architects, with more than 17,000 members and 48 chapters, representing all 50 American states, US territories, and 42 countries around the world. In designing the new Molecular Sciences and Engineering Building for the Georgia Institute of Technology Georgia Institute of Technology, in Atlanta, Ga.; coeducational; state supported; chartered 1885, opened 1888. It is a member school in the university system of Georgia. Significant among its facilities and programs are the Frank H. , CUH2A completed a new research quadrangle quadrangle Rectangular open space completely or partially enclosed by buildings of an academic or civic character. The grounds of a quadrangle are often grassy or landscaped. which received The Chapter Award; the highest award possible. The new design transformed a formerly bleak and underutilized outdoor space into an important central hub for faculty and students alike. Roy DeBoer, Fellow ASLA, Rutgers University, the 2008 Design Awards Program chair writes: "The Georgia Tech campus project was chosen to receive the highest possible award, The Chapter Award, in recognition of true excellence in landscape architecture site design. This is only the second Chapter Award that has been given in my five years as Awards Chair. Congratulations on an exceptional project!" CUH2A also received an Honor Award for the Pfizer Global Research and Development Headquarters site in New London, CT. The transformation of the 24-acre brownfield site is the result of a cooperative effort by the City, State and private entities. Located just south of downtown, it offers excellent views to the Thames River corridor and Long Island Sound beyond.
