SAN FRANCISCO San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  -- CUESA CUESA Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture (San Francisco, CA) , the San Francisco-based nonprofit Center for Urban Education About Sustainable Agriculture and operator of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, and Stone & Youngberg, a leading San Francisco investment bank, today announced that they have teamed up to grow awareness for sustainable agriculture through a sponsorship campaign aimed at bringing new shoppers to the renowned Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. Through a series of engaging new programs and marketplace renovations, CUESA seeks to increase the number of regular market shoppers, particularly for its Tuesday market. The initiative is designed to support CUESA's network of local farmers who twice weekly enrich the community by providing San Francisco residents with fresh, locally grown produce, fruits and artisan made foods. CUESA is seeking additional sponsors to fund a number of exciting new programs designed to educate and inform the community about the importance of sustainable agriculture.

"Stone & Youngberg is an ideal partner to launch our sponsorship program," said Dave Stockdale, executive director of CUESA. "They're an independent and locally-owned firm headquartered right here in the Ferry Building The Ferry Building is a terminal for ferries that travel across the San Francisco Bay and a shopping center located on The Embarcadero in San Francisco, California. On top of the building is a large clock tower, which can be seen from Market Street, a main thoroughfare of the city. . The firm funded irrigation irrigation, in agriculture, artificial watering of the land. Although used chiefly in regions with annual rainfall of less than 20 in. The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market is one of the most vibrant and diverse local markets in the country, serving more than 20,000 shoppers each week of the year through its Tuesday and Saturday markets. As lead sponsor, Stone & Youngberg will provide fundamental improvements to the market designed to facilitate a richer shopping environment for visitors. The firm will purchase new marketplace seating to encourage visitors to linger and enjoy the market experience, additional directional and program signs, as well as new market tents. Stone & Youngberg will also provide employee volunteers to support the launch of a new market tasting program for Ferry Building tenants, premiering in May. Additionally, the firm will create handy seasonal produce guides for market shoppers.

"As market shoppers ourselves, we are proud to play a role in sustaining and growing this valuable community asset."

CUESA is seeking additional sponsors at various levels to support a wide range of new and continuing programs. Beginning in May, CUESA will kick off a new Tuesday Easy Market Meals summer series. Tailored for busy professionals who work in the city's Financial District, the series will showcase quick and easy recipes that incorporate seasonal market fare.

"The Easy Market Meals series is designed for working professionals who can visit the market during their lunch hour, view one of the quick, continually repeating and engaging cooking demonstrations, and walk away with everything they need -- including fresh marketplace goods -- to cook dinner that night," said Stockdale.

Sponsorship is also needed to grow popular existing programs, including Market to Table, a free weekly Saturday program featuring a market farmer or producer highlighting their practices, followed by a seasonal cooking demonstration with a local chef who prepares recipes using farmer's market foods.

In addition, CUESA hopes to double participation in their Farm Tour program, which allows urban residents to meet the people who grow their food, see how food is produced, and learn about the daily challenges of farming.

"We're building a network of sponsors who will help us grow our programs to increase support for sustainable agriculture in the months and years ahead," said Stockdale. "We are looking for Looking for
