CUBS RALLY, TOP SERVITE LOYOLA 21, SERVITE 11.

Byline: Bryan Rodgers Special to the Daily News

Loyola of Los Angeles scored 14 unanswered points in the second half and rallied for a 21-11 nonleague victory over Servite of Anaheim at Glendale High Saturday night.

Alex Koplin caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from Adam Gonzalez to give Loyola (5-0) a 14-11 lead midway through the third quarter.

Loyola's defense forced three turnovers. Quintin Daniels and Chase Brogan had interceptions to end drives by Servite (4-2) and Scott Benke recovered a fumble that led to a 4-yard touchdown run by Loyola fullback Chad Slapnicka.

Daniels gave Loyola an early lead when he ran for an 80-yard touchdown on the Cubs' first play from scrimmage. Daniels, however, left the game with a possible separated shoulder in the first half and did not return.

The Cubs ran out the final nine minutes and 20 seconds with a 20-play, 73-yard drive. Gonzalez took a knee on the final two plays inside the Servite 10-yard line.

Gonzalez completed 9 of 19 attempts for 116 yards and one touchdown. Bo Renaud led Loyola rushers with 73 yards in 18 carries.

Servite finished with 272 yards, led by quarterback Ryan Coffelt, who passed for 206 yards and one touchdown. Loyola wound up with 354 yards.
