CTX Opto Showcases Latest LCD Flat Panel Monitors and Portable Projector At Society for Information Display Conference.


ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 14, 1998--CTX Opto, a leading provider of advanced display products, will showcase its latest LCD display and portable projector product offerings at the Society of Information Display (SID) conference in Anaheim, Calif. The company will demonstrate a variety of LCD displays with such features as touch screens and module designs for custom integrations, as well as their latest portable projectors. The new LCD monitors and projectors will be on display at booths No. 217 and No. 219, Anaheim Convention Center Anaheim Convention Center is a major convention center in Anaheim, California.  Opto will be showcasing the PanoView 745, a 14.5-inch LCD desktop monitor with two internal speakers and capable of XGA (EXtended Graphics Array) A screen resolution of 1,024x768 pixels. The term stems from IBM's XGA display standard introduced in 1990, which extended VGA to 132-column text and interlaced 1,024x768x256 resolution. XGA-2 later added non-interlaced 1,024x768x64K.  resolution. Also on hand will be several models of the PanoView 630, a 12.1-inch display available in both module and desktop form. The PanoView 630T is a desktop version with touchscreen capabilities, and the PanoView 630MF has a module design with front on-screen-display (OSD (1) (On-Screen Display) An on-screen control panel for adjusting monitors and TVs. The OSD is used for contrast, brightness, horizontal and vertical positioning and other monitor adjustments. ) controls. The PanoView 540, a 12.1-inch LCD display capable of SVGA (Super VGA) A screen resolution of 800x600 pixels. Third-party vendors extended IBM's VGA display standard and were the first to use the term. SVGA has also referred to 1,024x768 resolutions. CTX Opto will also be demonstrating the EzPro 680, the newest member of its EzPro family of ultraportable LCD and DLP (Digital Light Processing) A data projection technology from TI that produces clear, readable images on screens in lit rooms. DLP is used in all types of projection devices, from data projectors that weigh only a few pounds to large rear-projection TVs to electronic  projectors, and the first XGA polysilicon projector with both power zoom and focus to weigh in as a "lightweight" (12 pounds). CTX Opto's latest offering is simple to set-up and easy to use, delivering the performance and sharpness necessary for high-impact presentations. The EzPro 680 supports 1024x768 XGA resolution at an impressive 500 ANSI lumens, and is capable of projecting 16.7 million colors for today's advanced notebooks.

The EzPro 680 uses a 250W metal halide lamp Metal halide lamps, a member of the high-intensity discharge (HID) family of lamps, produce high light output for their size, making them a compact, powerful, and efficient light source.  for up to 1,000 hours of useful life and projects full screen video without the artifacting traditionally found in SVGA projectors. This CTX Opto "complete" projection solution package provides as standard equipment two built-in multimedia speakers; an infrared remote mouse; a light-weight, rugged carrying case; and an assortment of cables and connectors to meet a variety of presentation needs.
