The new facility will operate as a manufacturing and distribution center for CTS Interconnect Systems' backpanel and high-level systems integration business. It will initially focus manufacturing efforts on supporting the wireless base station business, which is forecasted by industry experts to grow significantly over the next several years.

Ian Archer, Vice President and General Manager of CTS Corporation, Interconnect Systems, stated, "CTS will leverage the new China facility to meet the local sourcing needs of our existing and expanding customer base in the region. Furthermore, it positions CTS to provide a cost-effective, high quality manufacturing capability that enhances our global supply chain model."

CTS Corporation Interconnect Systems is one of the world's largest suppliers of backpanel and electronic system (boxbuild) assemblies, with manufacturing facilities both in the United Kingdom and the USA, supported by worldwide distribution hubs.

With the new China Interconnect operation, CTS will have a total of three manufacturing facilities in the People's Republic of China, encompassing a total of 211,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space, and employing nearly 3,000 persons.
