:CTS) today announced that Renault has awarded CTS Automotive Products a production contract for a next generation Electronic Throttle Control Electronic throttle control (ETC) is an automobile technology which severs the mechanical link between the accelerator pedal and the throttle. Most automobiles already use a throttle position sensor (TPS) to provide input to traction control, antilock brakes, fuel injection, and  (ETC ETC - ExTendible Compiler. Total sales from the eight-year program are expected to reach $25 million, with production scheduled to begin in late 2008. CTS will manufacture the Pedal Modules in Europe for use on Renault's Megane vehicle, which is sold throughout mainland Europe. CTS began supplying pedal modules to Renault in 2001 and currently produces pedal modules on five platforms.
