According to CTIG's Chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , Anthony P. Johns, negotiations between the two companies are continuing that may lead to a transaction along more conventional lines involving CTIG's NEPTUNE Billing and Customer Care System.

In May, the companies had signed a far-reaching preliminary agreement for a joint development partnership that involved transfers of technology and personnel.

The objectives of the agreement from CTIG's position was to accelerate enhancements for convergent telecommunications billing to the NEPTUNE System produced by CTIG's U.S.-subsidiary, CTI Data Solutions Inc., and from US WATS' position, to pursue a strategic alliance that would enhance support for that company's growth initiatives.

Both companies said that they can remain on track to achieve their objectives without such an involved partnership. Talks between the companies centering around US WATSU implementation of NEPTUNE for its telecommunications billing continue.

CTIG, through its operating subsidiaries, provides telemanagement systems for companies and institutions to manage their telecommunications networks, and billing software and services to support telecommunications providers' customer invoicing needs.
