CTIA Wireless Internet Caucus Launches ''Untethered'' Monthly Wireless Data Newsletter.

NEW ORLEANS -- The CTIA Wireless Internet Caucus (WIC) today launched "Untethered: Accelerating the growth of the wireless data ecosystem," a monthly e-mail newsletter reporting on the activities of the WIC, its members and new developments in wireless data.

The first issue of "Untethered" features articles about the activities of the WIC Leadership Council, the WIC Action Teams, the launch of the WIC Weblog, a welcome letter from Steve Largent, President and CEO of CTIA-The Wireless Association(TM) and a commentary from Mark Desautels, the CTIA's Vice President of Wireless Internet Development and the head of the WIC.

"Untethered" is the second publication launched by the WIC in less than a week. Recently, the WIC announced the "WIC Weblog" - www.WicWeblog.com - the first permanent weblog produced by the CTIA. The weblog is updated several times a week and the "comments" section is especially valuable for sparking two-way "conversations" with the WIC members, wireless data industry players and the public.

"The newsletter is one of several ways the Wireless Internet Caucus communicates with its members as well as the entire wireless data industry and the public," says Desautels.

"With 'Untethered' plus our new WIC Weblog, our Web site and WIC meetings at CTIA conferences, we not only are providing more information than ever about our activities and the value of wireless data but also actively encouraging comments and suggestions from the wireless community and the public."

The editor of "Untethered" is Alan A. Reiter, president of the consulting firm of Wireless Internet & Mobile Computing. Reiter also is editor of the WIC Weblog. He has been analyzing wireless for 26 years. Previously, Reiter created the world's first wireless data newsletter, wireless data conference and cellular conference and was instrumental in helping to create the first cellular magazine.
