The ORCA GX platform will also allow CTI to expand their domestic network in the future using the latest carrier-class VoIP technology. The ORCA SSC Softswitch will be able to aggregate SS7 trunks into centralized Signaling Transfer Points (STPs) in one location in the Miami area. CTI is currently considering this solution.

"CTI has thoroughly evaluated packet voice technology and we are excited by the benefits of deploying the ORCA GX line of gateways for packet voice transport, but in particular we are very impressed with the advantages of migrating our network towards the ORCA SSC Softswitch. By utilizing the SSC we are able to see tremendous savings in implementing both our international and domestic SS7 networks," said Ruddy McGlashan, president of CTI. "In addition, the fact that we work with multiple protocols (ANSI (American National Standards Institute, New York, www.ansi.org) A membership organization founded in 1918 that coordinates the development of U.S. voluntary national standards in both the private and public sectors.
