Marquardt, 49, as president and chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO) The officer of a firm responsible for day-to-day management, usually the president or an executive vice-president. , effective Dec. 1, 1996. Victor H. Frauenhofer, the current chairman and chief executive officer of CTG will retain those titles. Marquardt has been senior vice president of the Gas Business Union of the Long Island Lighting Co. (LILCO LILCO Long Island Lighting Company ) since 1992. He joined LILCO in 1991 as vice president of strategic business planning. Prior to his experience at LILCO, Marquardt was employed with various energy services businesses, including General Electric Company from 1977 to 1986. Frauenhofer said, "CTG is pleased to welcome Marquardt to the management team. He will be focusing his efforts on enhancing our current business strategies and moving to expand our unregulated activities." Marquardt is a graduate of Tufts University with a bachelor of science Noun 1.
