CTG Renews ISO 9001 Certification Under 2000 Standard.

CTG (NYSE: CTG), an international information technology (IT) solutions and staffing company, today announced that it has renewed its ISO 9001 certification under the new standard published in 2000 (ISO 9001:2000).

The company first achieved certification in 1992 for its European operations, which was followed by the certification of its first North American location in 1996. In June 2000, CTG became one of the largest IT services providers in North America to achieve ISO 9001 certification for all of its business units company-wide.

ISO 9001 is the internationally recognized standard for quality management and efficiency in business practices. It was established by the International Organization for Standardization to ensure that customer and organizational needs are consistently met and are provided within a framework of continuous improvement. The ISO organization updates the standard every few years as part of an effort to continually improve it.

The new ISO 9001:2000 standard expands the criteria of the earlier ISO 9001:1994 standard, requiring organizations to adopt a "process approach" in the development, improvement, and implementation of their quality management systems. Because CTG had used a process approach when it first developed its quality management system, its transition to the 2000 standard was a relatively smooth one, which speaks to CTG's continued commitment to increasing customer trust and improving its product and service quality.

Companies that are still registered to one of the 1994 versions of the ISO 9000 standards have until December 14 of this year to make the transition to the respective 2000 version. According to Quality Digest's database of ISO 9000-registered companies, only 12 percent of registered companies in North America had transitioned to the new standard as of mid-January 2003. This means that nearly 50,000 sites in North America have yet to be registered to the 2000 standard (source: www.qualitydigest.com).
