CTE to Issue Its 2006 Fourth Quarter Earnings Release on February 27.

DALLAS, Pa. -- Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises, Inc. ("CTE") [Nasdaq:CTCO], plans to issue its 2006 Fourth Quarter Earnings Release before the market opens on Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at approximately 7:30 a.m. (EST).

CTE is not planning to conduct a conference call in connection with its 2006 Fourth Quarter Earnings Release, primarily due to the fact that 2007 guidance will not be provided given the proposed acquisition of CTE by Citizens Communications Company.
