CTE Declares Dividend for 2006 Fourth Quarter.

DALLAS, Pa. -- Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises, Inc. ("CTE") [Nasdaq:CTCO], announced today that its Board of Directors has declared a dividend of $.50 per share for the 2006 fourth quarter. The quarterly dividend will be paid on December 29, 2006, to shareholders of record at the close of business on December 15, 2006.

Today's dividend announcement reflects CTE's decision to pay its seventh consecutive quarterly dividend in connection with its overall dividend plan, which was announced on May 3, 2005.
