CTE Announces Date of Special Meeting of Shareholders to Vote on Proposed Merger.


DALLAS, Pa. -- Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises, Inc. ("CTE (Coefficient of Thermal Expansion) The difference between the way two materials expand when heat is applied. ") (Nasdaq:CTCO CTCO Chicago Transportation Coordination Office ), announced today that a special meeting of shareholders will be held on January 25, 2007, to consider and vote on the proposal to adopt the Agreement and Plan of Merger dated as of September 17, 2006, among CTE, Citizens Communications Citizens Communications is the parent company of Frontier Telephone, providing telephone and internet access in 24 states.

The company headquarters are located at 3 High Ridge Park in Stamford, Connecticut.
 Company ("Citizens") and CF Merger Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Citizens, pursuant to which CF Merger Corp. will merge with and into CTE, with CTE surviving as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Citizens. The special meeting will be held at 3:00 p.m., local time, at the offices of Davis Polk & Wardwell, 450 Lexington Avenue, New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
, New York 10017. Shareholders of record as of the close of business on December 19, 2006, will be entitled to notice of the special meeting and to vote on the proposal to adopt the merger agreement and any other matter that may properly come before the special meeting.
