CTDI Expands Global Service Portfolio.

WEST CHESTER, Pa. -- Communications Test Design, Inc. (CTDI), the largest independent global telecommunications repair and logistics provider, reports a record pace for growth from late 2000 through Q4 2006 as a result of focused global efforts on new business development, and the addition of new facilities in India, Brazil and Mexico.

According to David Burt, vice president for International Services at CTDI, the new international facilities are the result of targeting strategic growth in the areas of repair, warehousing, distribution and manufacturing services.

CTDI constructed a 50,000-square-foot Strategic Repair and Logistics Center (SRC) in Juarez, Mexico to accommodate high volume repairs and offer North American customers a low-cost repair option. The operation provides wireless subscriber and infrastructure repair services for Motorola products, including two-way radios, two-way portables and iDEN.

CTDI India, located in the New Delhi suburb of Gurgaon, began operations with the repair of power supply product. New contracts with two major OEMs for local test and repair of long-haul optical product and wireless base station equipment will require significant workforce and facility expansion in early 2007.

Located in Campinas, Sao Paulo, CTDI do Brasil was incorporated in August 2006 and offers in-region repair, warehousing and distribution services. Within two months of opening, the division has been awarded contracts from two major OEMs for the repair of enterprise products, access technology and wireless base station equipment.

CTDI's global expansion efforts accelerated in late 2000 with the creation of CTDI Nethouse, a majority-owned joint venture with Deutsche Telekom. Facilities in Malsch, Germany, Geottignen, Germany and Milton-Keynes, UK, were later joined by operations in Friedrichshafen, Germany and Budapest, Hungary. CTDI Nethouse has experienced double-digit growth every year since its founding, due to increased activity with European Telcos, the acquisition of part of Alcatel's Optical Network Division, and a recent award of the Zhone manufacturing business. Core business includes telecom equipment repair, logistics and inventory management, supply, and manufacturing for Alcatel and Zhone. A full SMT assembly line and complete production capabilities process in excess of 500,000 repairs per year.
