Currently, CSXT publishes transportation pricing data for distribution to customers and other railroads using paper-based publications, generating over 12 million pages of paper per year for tariff publications. CSXT anticipates it will be able to decrease its paper consumption 50 percent annually by initially publishing electronic versions for internal reviews, and eventually publishing prices electronically for its customers over the Internet and other electronic distribution networks.
