CSUN VS. WEBER STATE.Byline: Chris Branam Time: 8:05 p.m., Dee Events Center. TV/Radio: None. CSUN (16-10, 8-6) update: The Matadors have become the Big Sky's most dangerous team. Even though they are fourth in the conference, they have beaten all three teams above them, including Weber State. A CSUN win tonight coupled with a Montana State loss to Eastern Washington would push the Matadors into a third-place tie with the Bobcats. CSUN got two consecutive career-high scoring games last week: Junior F Andre Larry had 27 in a last-second loss at Eastern Washington and senior G Derrick Higgins had 27 in a win at Portland State. Weber State (20-7, 11-3) update: The Wildcats are in a battle with Northern Arizona for the regular-season conference championship and the right to host the tournament. Although they don't lead the conference as a team in any significant category, the Wildcats have few weaknesses. Like CSUN, Weber State creates a lot of steals and turnovers. Weber State is unbeaten (10-0) at home this season; CSUN ended Portland State's home win streak at 21 games last Saturday. |
