CSUN UPDATE: CSUN GETS OK TO PLAY AT PIERCE.

As expected, the Los Angeles Community College District The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is the community college district serving Los Angeles, California and some of its neighboring cities. See Board of directors.  on Thursday authorized a lease for the Cal State Northridge football and soccer teams to use Pierce College's Shepard Stadium for two years.

This is the last year the Matadors will use North Campus Stadium; it is scheduled to be demolished next year as part of a planned biotechnology complex. CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  plays just three home games this season, with the final game Nov. 3 against Sacramento State.

The lease, which is for an estimated $60,000 a year, can be renewed annually for up to 10 years. A portion of the $60,000 will be used for necessary improvements to Shepard Stadium since the facility doesn't meet all the requirements for a Division I-AA game. The scoreboard at North Campus Stadium will be moved to Pierce College In 2006 the Library won a national Excellence award. Academics
Pierce College offers associate's degrees, mainly in the arts and sciences. There are also certificate programs in early childhood education, social services, dental hygienist, and others.
