CSUN UPDATE: CSUN'S DULL APPLIES FOR A.D. JOB AT TEMPLE.

Cal State Northridge athletic director Athletic director (commonly, "athletics director") is a position at many American colleges and universities, as well as in larger high schools and middle schools, which oversees the work of the coaches and related staff involved in intercollegiate or interscholastic athletic  Dick Dull has applied to fill the athletic director opening at Temple University in Philadelphia.

``I'll only say I have forwarded materials on to a consultant they've hired and I won't say anything more than that,'' Dull said.

Dull, who has been at CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  for nearly three years, is working on a five-year plan Five-Year Plan, Soviet economic practice of planning to augment agricultural and industrial output by designated quotas for a limited period of usually five years.  for the athletic department, which includes prioritizing facility needs. He'll submit it to president Jolene Koester Jolene Koester is the president of California State University, Northridge. The California State University Board of Trustees announced her appointment as president on November 16, 1999, and she took office as the fourth president of the University on July 1, 2000.  on April 20.

, who was Temple's athletic director the last six years, resigned in February, citing personal reasons. Jack Lengyel was recently hired as interim athletic director.

Under O'Brien, Temple made an agreement with the Big East for the football team to leave the conference after the 2004 season.

Dull was born in Philadelphia. He was the athletic director at Maryland from 1981-1986 and at Moravian College from 1998-99. Dull took over at CSUN in May 1999.

``I'm challenged by what I'm doing here and I'm excited about the five-year plan and the facilities plan,'' Dull said.
