CSUN TO OPEN SITE FOR ASSAULT VICTIMS.

A crisis center providing counseling and support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  to victims of sexual assault will open later this month in Newhall.

California State University, Northridge CSUN offers a variety of programs leading to bachelor's degrees in 61 fields and master's degrees in 42 fields. The university has over 150,000 alumni. The center will be funded by the state and operated by volunteers. Newhall was chosen for such a program by the state Office of Criminal Justice Planning because there are few local services for rape victims and children who have been sexually abused, trauma center officials said.

The agency is seeking chairs for counseling offices and the waiting room, desks, small electric typewriters, small sofas, a vacuum cleaner, cleaning supplies, lamps, wall decorations, clocks, office supplies, new toys, bookshelves and magazine subscriptions.
