CSUN STRONG NO. 2 IN FALL STUDENT GROWTH.

California State University, Northridge CSUN offers a variety of programs leading to bachelor's degrees in 61 fields and master's degrees in 42 fields. The university has over 150,000 alumni. It's also home to a summer musical theater/theater program known as TADW (TeenAge Drama Workshop) that leads teenagers through an , had the second-largest enrollment increase in the state this fall, CSU See DSU/CSU.

Enrollment grew by 2,382, to 31,448 full-time and part-time students, putting it behind only San Diego State University San Diego State University (SDSU), founded in 1897 as San Diego Normal School, is the largest and oldest higher education facility in the greater San Diego area (generally the City and County of San Diego), and is part of the California State University system. , which increased by 2,562 students.

This marks the second-highest enrollment in CSUN's history, and the highest since the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. The highest enrollment ever was 31,575 in 1988.

``It is a good thing,'' said CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  spokeswoman Carmen Ramos Chandler. ``It's a clear indication that the Northridge Earthquake is in the distant past.''

This is the seventh year of consecutive growth for the 22-campus CSU system, which counted 388,734 full-time and part-time students in fall 2001. That's nearly 20,000, or 5.5 percent, more students that were enrolled in CSU systemwide in fall 2000.
