CSUN NOTEBOOK: CSUN SIGNS POWER FORWARD.

Cal State Northridge's men's basketball team received a signed letter of intent Tuesday from shot-blocking specialist Larry Beard of Angelina College Angelina College is a community college located in Lufkin, Texas, with a branch campus in nearby Nacogdoches, Texas, and a future location in Crockett, Texas History  (Texas).

The athletic 6-foot-8, 235-pound power forward, who visited CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  two weekends ago, averaged 14 points, 8.9 rebounds and a league-leading seven blocks per game at the junior college last season. The sophomore registered a career-high 15 blocks in a win over Lon Morris College (Texas) for Angelina, which went 27-10 and finished in seventh place in the National Junior College Finals in Hutchinson, Kan. The Crockett, Texas Crockett is a city in Houston County, Texas, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 7,141. ``He's an athletic guy who runs the floor and rebounds well,'' said CSUN coach Bobby Braswell Bobby Braswell, an American basketball coach, is currently the head coach for Cal State Northridge.
