Carr, Cal State Northridge's senior point guard, scored his 1,000th career point against UC Irvine Irvine, town, Scotland
Irvine (ûr`vĭn), town (1991 pop. 32,507), North Ayrshire, SW Scotland, on the Irvine River estuary. Industries include iron and brass foundries. Other products are chemicals, electric goods, and clothing.
on Saturday Saturday: see week; Sabbath. . He was none the wiser.

``Oh, man - I never really planned on having that many points in my career,'' Carr said. ``It seemed so far away, especially when I was averaging six points a game my first year. It's a good feeling.''

He became the 12th CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  player to pass 1,000 points and the third in coach Bobby Braswell's six seasons. Brian Heinle and Jeff Parris did it last season.

Carr, the co-Big West Conference player of the week last week, will set another mark today when he makes his 100th career start against Cal State Fullerton.

``Hey, coming in I didn't know what to expect,'' Carr said. ``For all these things "These Things" is an EP by She Wants Revenge, released in 2005 by Perfect Kiss, a subsidiary of Geffen Records. Music Video

to be happening, I'm just grateful they gave me the opportunity to let me do all these things.''

Carr, who is averaging 18 points per game, has been nearly unstoppable lately in leading CSUN (6-10) to a 5-2 Big West mark heading into today's home game against Fullerton (4-12, 1-6), which hasn't won a road game. He scored a career-high 31 points in CSUN's 73-72 overtime win at Irvine.

Last year, Carr led the nation in assists (8.9 per game). This season, he's third in scoring in the conference and leads the Big West in steals at 2.9 per game.

``I always came into each season thinking I was going to pick my scoring up every year after my freshman year,'' Carr said. ``I never knew I'd be averaging the points I'm averaging. But when you get good looks and play hard - that's what happens.''

. He has started the past eight games and now leads the team in rebounding at 4.4 per game. He had a career-high 13 rebounds in CSUN's road win over Long Beach State and made the game-winning shot with 25 seconds left against Irvine.

He averaged 4.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in CSUN's first nine games and 9.3 points and 7.1 rebounds over the past seven.

--Big week: CSUN plays two home games this week against Fullerton and Riverside, who have a combined Big West record of 4-9. CSUN is tied with UC Santa Barbara Santa Barbara (săn'tə bär`brə, –bərə), city (1990 pop. 85,571), seat of Santa Barbara co., S Calif., on the Pacific Ocean; inc. 1850.  for second place in conference, one game behind 6-1 Irvine.

If Irvine loses at Santa Barbara today and CSUN beats Fullerton, the Matadors will be in a three-way tie for first.

``We've done some good things - going on the road and winning three (conference) games,'' Braswell said. ``That's huge. Last week we were blessed enough to get two (road) games. You always look to at least split on a road trip. But now it's very important to take care of our home games.''
