ANAHEIM - Ofa Tulikihihifo spent most of the past two weeks convincing herself she could play in the Big West Conference women's basketball Women's basketball is one of the few games which developed in tandem with men's. For the first half of Thursday's quarterfinal game against UC Riverside, it looked as if Tulikihihifo might have been kidding herself. Her knee was gimpy gimp 1

But as the game wore on, Tulikihihifo regained the form that's made her a first-team all-conference selection three times, scoring 13 of her 14 points in the second half and overtime of Cal State Northridge's 62-58 victory over the Highlanders at the Anaheim Convention Center Anaheim Convention Center is a major convention center in Anaheim, California. ``In the beginning, I think I was just tentative and the fatigue kicked in real quick,'' said Tulikihihifo, who has missed the past six games because of the injury. ``But as it got closer, I realized right now isn't the time to be thinking about (my knee). It's now or never.''

Tulikihihifo scored eight of Northridge's 12 points in overtime, including two free throws with 11 seconds remaining to seal the victory.

It was Northridge's first victory in the Big West tournament in school history.  its 13-game losing streak to the Gauchos. Riverside's Cassandra Reeves hit a desperation 3-pointer with three seconds left, sending the game into overtime and giving Riverside (16-13) all the momentum.

A quick basket from Tulikihihifo ended that momentum quickly and Northridge never trailed again.

``It was an ugly game, but we'll take that ugly game as a win any day,'' Northridge coach Tammy Holder said. ``We obviously didn't want them to shoot of take a 3-pointer and that was a really good look. But it happened and that's what makes games exciting. We certainly didn't want to go to overtime, but the good guys won.''
