CSUN'S KEARIN INTERVIEWS FOR ASSISTANT'S JOB AT TULSA.

Cal State Northridge football coach Jeff Kearin has interviewed to be an offensive assistant at Tulsa.

Keith Bernard Burns (born May 16, 1972 in Greeleyville, South Carolina) is a former professional football player.

``We're close,'' Burns said on Thursday. ``We've got some things that have to fall into place first. I feel good about him. ``He has a great personality,'' Burns said. ``He's very organized and he's an excellent teacher of football. He's only developed and added to those strengths since he's been at Northridge.''

Burns said there were three vacant offensive positions, but he thought one of those was filled. He wouldn't say which positions were open.

Kearin was at Northridge for seven years, including the last three as head coach. The school dropped the football program Nov. 20. All coaches are under contract through June.
