CSUB GRADUATE PROGRAMS SET SATELLITECAMPUS WILL OFFER COURSES THIS FALL.

The Antelope Valley
 satellite campus of California State University, Bakersfield As of fall 2002, some 7,700 undergraduate and graduate students attended CSUB, at either the main campus in Bakersfield or the satellite campus, Antelope Valley Center in Lancaster, California of Los Angeles County. , will begin offering graduate degree programs this fall in curriculum, instruction and educational administration.

Undergraduate orientation will be held Aug. 25 for students enrolling in the fall semester. Orientation will be held Sept. 29 for students enrolling in the credentials program starting in the winter.

As the university develops its academic offerings and enrollment grows, it is expanding its facilities, including the construction of a new student services facility, which will house a student health center, disabled student services office and assistive technology Hardware and software that help people who are physically impaired. Often called "accessibility options" when referring to enhancements for using the computer, the entire field of assistive technology is quite vast and even includes ramp and doorway construction in buildings to support  lab, and Associated Students office.

 interim provost and vice president for academic affairs. New faculty and staff positions based in the Antelope Valley have been added, including a counselor and professors in English, math education, psychology, science education, special education, and the single-subject teacher credential program.

An undergraduate degree (sometimes called a first degree or simply a degree
 programs in communications, criminal justice, economics, English, liberal studies, nursing, psychology and sociology. Credential and graduate degree programs include single-subject, multiple subjects and special education, as well as the new curriculum and instruction and education administration programs.

CSUB Extended University also offers certificate and professional development programs in the Antelope Valley, said Mark Evans, interim dean of extended university.

``Beginning in September, graduate degree programs in education will be administered by the School of Education, taking over from extended university,'' Evans said. ``This will enable students to access the programs at a much lower cost and it will enable CSUB to enrich curriculum offerings in these programs.''
