CSU BOARD CHAIRMAN MONTE AHUJA EXPLAINS PRESIDENTIAL SEARCH PROCESS
CLEVELAND, Aug. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Monte Ahuja, chairman of the Board of Trustees of Cleveland State University, has issued the following statement on the search for a new CSU president:
The CSU trustees commended Judge Alvin I. Krenzler and the other members of the Presidential Search Committee for their dedication and hard work in developing a list of finalists for this important post. They have put many long hours into this process.
At this point the Search Committee has recommended four finalists for further consideration. All are external to the University.
All the finalists have impressive credentials and significant experience. They are:
-- Dr. David G. Carter, president of Eastern Connecticut State
 University
-- Dr. Susan A. Cole, vice president of University Administration
and Personnel for the State University of New Jersey, Rutgers
-- Dr. Milton A. Grodsky, Director of the Center for the Study of
Management and Organizations at the University of Maryland,
 University College
-- Dr. Claire A. Van Ummerson, chancellor, the University System of
 New Hampshire
The Board of Trustees will take the lead in arranging for these finalists to visit campus for a series of interviews and meetings with trustees, administrators, faculty, staff and students.
The search process is well within the previously announced schedule and we expect to name a new president by the end of 1992.
The Cleveland State University Presidential Search Committee, which has been meeting since December 1991, is chaired by Retired United States Senior District Court Judge Alvin I. Krenzler. Other members include Monte Ahuja, Edward F. Bell, Mittie Olion Chandler, Barton R. Friedman, Stanley Gordon, Elaine Koskie, Edward McNeely, Lorraine Vega, Roslyn Z. Wolf, and Judge George W. White.
