CST Inks Deal With Cendant Corporation, Contract Calls For Future Purchases of CST Product Line; Cendant's First use of CST will be at Resort Condominiums International, LLC.

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- April 13, 1998--Atlanta-based CST Inc. today announced it has signed an agreement with Cendant Corporation to offer preferred pricing of CST products to Cendant companies and clients. CST offers its Jacada product family that automates the generation of graphical thin clients in Java, Visual Basic or Windows for host applications running on mainframe and AS/400 platforms.

The first implementation of CST technology will be at RCI, the world's largest provider of resort condominium vacations. As a leader in the timesharing industry, RCI sends more than six million travelers to vacation destinations each year. RCI has 41 offices in 30 countries throughout the world.

CST technology will first be deployed at RCI's Indianapolis call center where 800 vacation counselors provide service to North America RCI members. In 1998, RCI plans to upgrade its Indianapolis call center facilities, replacing its host terminals with Pentium PCs. While the data for the call center application will continue to reside on an IBM mainframe, the new desktop technology will permit RCI to replace its green screen application with a new graphical user interface.

During the selection process, RCI completed rigorous testing of the CST technology to determine the Return on Investment (ROI) for using graphical access to its call center application. "Call length remained the same, but training-related costs were reduced approximately 25 percent." said Brad Dettmer, Director, Information Technology, RCI. "Using a graphical environment, call center operators showed that they could more easily adapt to new products and service offerings," he said.

The benefits at RCI were achieved with a graphical environment that simplified screens and eliminated the use of non-descriptive coding. "Not only did our new employees benefit from the graphical environment, call productivity was maintained among our long-term employees as well," Dettmer said. Full deployment of the graphical environment to the Indianapolis call center is scheduled for late spring, 1998.
