CSR Announces Record 2005 Results and Strong Outlook for 2006 Record Revenue, Profit, Cash Flow and Earnings Per Share For 2005.

CSR plc (LSE LSE - Language Sensitive Editor :CSR) today announced its unaudited preliminary financial results for the fourth quarter and its audited financial results for the 52 weeks ended 30 December 2005.

Highlights of CSR's end of year results for 2005

--CSR increased its sales by 92% year on year to $486.5m ($253.1m in 2004)

--CSR won 460 new designs of which 43% were in handsets or headsets

--CSR won designs with 5 out of the 6 top mobile phone OEM's during 2005

--Over 70% of CSR's unit shipments were in the cellular sector

--CSR has won 69% of EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) An acronym occasionally used to reflect an advancement in transmission or transfer speed. Fourth Quarter 2005 highlights

--Q4 2005 revenue increased 104% to $162.9m

--CSR won 32 design wins in the quarter from mobile phone customers (13 more than CSR's record to date)

--CSR handset designs include Kyocera, LG, Nokia, Pantech Curitel, Philips, Purple Labs, Quanta quan·ta

--Headcount at CSR increased to 688 largely as a result of continued R&D investment

Outlook for 2006

--CSR expects continued strong growth in Bluetooth market in 2006 and estimates year on year growth in unit shipments to be around 60%

--As in Q1 2005, orders have accelerated following Chinese New Year Chinese New Year (Simplified Chinese: ; Traditional Chinese: ; Pinyin: Chūnjié), or Spring Festival  and significant growth is expected in Q2 2006

--CSR expects attach rates in mobile phones to reach 35% for the year as whole

--CSR revenues expected to be $125m to $135m for Q1 2006, ( 88% to104% higher than Q1 2005)

In March 2005, CSR acquired Clarity Technologies Inc., for its Clear Voice Capture (CVC See CSC. ) technology that enhances the audio performance of any voice-based product or system. Applications for CVC include wireless headsets, handsets and automotive hands free systems.

In August 2005, CSR completed the acquisition of UbiNetics' software business, providing a strong R&D team to accelerate its existing software development in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and UWB (Ultra-WideBand) A wireless technology that uses less power and provides higher speed than 802.11 Wi-Fi networks or first-generation Bluetooth products. UWB is expected to provide wireless video transmission for home theater systems, cable TV, auto safety and . The UbiNetics team gives CSR the capacity to extend its offering to mobile handset customers.
