CSR's BlueCore Integrated Into Blue2space Access Point for Portable Devices.

See call center.  (Cambridge Silicon Radio) today announced that its BlueCore01 single-chip Bluetooth solution has been integrated into a new LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. The blue2access enables wireless networking See wireless network.  for portable devices such as PCs, PDAs and mobile phones, over a LAN or the Internet. It is a plug-and-play device with a built-in web server for simple configuration and will act as a key element in establishing a Bluetooth network. Flash memory on the BlueCore chip allows for easy firmware and software upgrades. No extra software is needed in the terminal or connected devices. The access point weighs just 90g and measures 106x70x26mm. It has 3 LEDs, one (blue) indicating mode of operation, and two LAN LEDs indicating status of LAN connection and transmission of data.

The access point can be connected to a LAN using a standard Ethernet RJ-45 connection for easy integration into existing networks. In addition to LAN access profile, blue2access supports the Generic Access Profile
