CSC wins $36 million business processes & program management contract from U.S. Navy.


EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Aug. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/--Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE:CSC) announced today that it has won a contract to provide business and program management support to the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR SPAWAR - Space & Naval Warfare Systems Command (US Navy)

) in Charleston, S.C. The contract, which has one base year and four one-year options, has an estimated value to CSC of approximately $36 million if all options are exercised.

Under the contract, CSC will help SPAWAR's Command and Control Systems Department analyze its business operations and implement appropriate commercial best practices. CSC will also support the department by providing program and project management, financial management, information technology and administrative support.

"Through several successful process reengineering projects at other SPAWAR offices the CSC team demonstrated that we have the capability and experience required to produce repeatable results," said Aaron Fuller, vice president and general manager of CSC's Navy/Marine Corps and Missile Defense organization. "We are proud to help SPAWAR make its business processes as efficient as possible."

Work on the contract will be performed in Charleston, SC; Tidewater, Va.; and Patuxent River, Md.
