CSC signs agreement with San Diego Gas & Electric for desktop and related services.

:CSC) Tuesday announced a three-year contract with an additional two one-year renewal options with San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay.  Gas & Electric, the low-cost energy provider among investor-owned utilities in California.

The contract calls for CSC to maintain and upgrade all of SDG&E's desktop operations, providing new hardware and software technologies in addition to help-desk, local area network and Internet access See how to access the Internet.  support.

"SDG&E can keep pace with fast-changing technologies while cutting costs and improving the service and quality of our desktop operations," said Jim Sabuda, SDG&E's director of Information Technology Services. "By choosing technology experts such as CSC to support this part of our business, we're better able to focus on the strategic issues central to SDG&E's business."

Added Van B. Honeycutt, CSC president and chief executive officer, "We are pleased to expand our partnership with SDG&E, using our technology skills to help them meet their business goals."

Through a prior agreement announced last fall, CSC also supports SDG&E's mainframe operations from its San Diego-based data center.

Computer Sciences had $3.4 billion in annual revenues for the 12 months ended March 31, 1995. The company has headquarters in El Segundo, and has 33,000 employees in 575 offices worldwide.
