CSC selected for $16 million contract to support Navy's Carderock Division in Maryland.

There is also aerospace research., Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 17, 1996--Computer Sciences Corp. (NYSE:CSC) has been awarded a five-year contract by the Department of the Navy to provide scientific and engineering support services to the Carderock Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Maryland.

The contract is valued at $3.9 million for the initial base year, with four additional option years for a total value of $16 million over five years if all options are exercised.

CSC will provide Navy-oriented scientific and engineering services in support of the Carderock Division's Hydromechanics Directorate at the Navy's David Taylor Model Basin located outside of Washington, D.C.

Contract work will be performed by CSC's Systems Engineering Division (SED) which is based in Falls Church, Va. Approximately 40 naval system engineers, simulation and modeling engineers, and computer and software specialists will be assigned to the contract in Carderock, Md. SED has been supporting the David Taylor Model Basin for more than 20 years.

Teaming with CSC are Advanced Marine Enterprises, Arlington, Va., and M. Rosenblatt & Sons, New York, N.Y. The companies will provide ship concept design and integration, life-cycle engineering support, integrated logistic support and related services.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, is responsible for research, development, test and evaluation, fleet support and in-service engineering for Navy surface and undersea vehicles and associated hull, mechanical and electrical systems.

Computer Sciences Corporation had $4.1 billion in annual revenues for the 12 months ended December 29, 1995.
