(NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :CSC) has been awarded a contract to provide acquisition and technical support services to the Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM FEDSIM Federal Systems Integration & Management Center ) of the General Services Administration The General Services Administration (GSA) was established by section 101 of the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act of 1949 (40 U.S.C.A. § 751). The GSA sets policy for and manages government property and records. The task-order contract involves multiple awards and covers one base year, plus four option years with a maximum order limitation of $840 million. As one of eight FEDSIM contractors, CSC will support GSA's Office of Information Technology Integration (ITI (Information Technology Industry Council, Washington, DC, www.itic.org) Formerly the Computer and Business Equipment Manufacturers Association (CBEMA), founded in 1916. ITI is a membership organization composed of approximately 30 large high-tech companies. ) in six areas that include software management, communications systems support, satellite communications systems, acquisition support, business process reengineering See reengineering. and systems integration. ITI provides fee-for-service technical expertise to other government agencies to improve the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of federal information resources. "GSA is looking to industry to provide newer and more responsive approaches to doing business," said Van B. Honeycutt, CSC president and chief executive officer. "CSC is now in a position to leverage its federal and commercial information technology practices to assist the GSA in becoming the premier consulting organization to government clients." The contract will be performed by systems engineers, analysts and planners assigned to CSC's Systems Sciences Division, whose headquarters are in Calverton, Md. Teaming with CSC are EER EER - An extended entity-relationship model. Systems Corp. in Lanham, Md., for software management and systems integration support; Marshall Associates Inc., in Reston, Va., for space and telecommunications systems engineering and integration services; and PAIRCOM Inc., in Springfield, Va., for satellite consulting services. CSC is currently supporting other task-order contracts for federal agencies that include the Defense Information Systems Agency, which sponsors the Defense Enterprise Integration Services and the Information Security Technical Services contracts; and the Department of the Treasury, which sponsors the Treasury Information Processing Support Services contract. Other FEDSIM contractors selected by the GSA include Advanced Technology Systems Inc.; Booz-Allen & Hamilton Inc; Dynamics Research Corp.; J.G. VanDyke & Associates Inc.; SAIC SAIC - http://saic.com. ; Systems Research and Applications Corp.; and VGS Inc. CSC had $3.8 billion in revenues for the 12 months ending Sept. 29, 1995.
