CSC awarded Department of Agriculture contract CSC to provide program management, knowledge management and e-learning support services.

:CSC) announced recently that the company has won a task order to support the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA USDA,
n.pr See United States Department of Agriculture.
) Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). The five-year award, which is valued at $11 million if all options are exercised, was awarded through ANSWER, a broad multiple-award contract sponsored by the General Services Administration The General Services Administration (GSA) was established by section 101 of the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act of 1949 (40 U.S.C.A. § 751). The GSA sets policy for and manages government property and records.  in 1998.

Under the task order, which expands CSC's seven-year relationship with the USDA, CSC will provide project management, analytical and technical assistance to the USDA's APHIS in the areas of e-learning and knowledge management.

APHIS is responsible for protecting and promoting U.S. agricultural health, administering the Animal Welfare Act and carrying out wildlife damage management activities. In recent years, the Years, The

 scope of APHIS's protection function has expanded and the agency has assumed a greater role in the global agricultural arena, responding to other countries' animal and plant health import requirements and negotiating science-based standards.

"CSC's experience and our history of providing operational results for the USDA showed that we could help APHIS meet its knowledge management and e-learning support requirements," said Dale Luddeke, vice president for CSC's Resources and Environmental Services The various combinations of scientific, technical, and advisory activities (including modification processes, i.e., the influence of manmade and natural factors) required to acquire, produce, and supply information on the past, present, and future states of space, atmospheric,  organization.
