CSC awarded $90 million Department of Defense contract.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 25, 1995--Computer Sciences Corp. (NYSE:CSC) has been awarded a contract to provide software engineering support services to the Department of Defense.

The task-order award is valued in excess of $90 million if all options are exercised during the five-year contract.

The award marks more than $2 billion in contracts that CSC's Systems Group has been awarded since the start of the company's fiscal year on April 1. Total U.S. government revenue for the prior fiscal year was $1.5 billion.

The contract calls for CSC to support the DoD with programs spanning requirements definition to user acceptance and life-cycle support. Work will be performed by CSC's Systems Engineering Division and involve approximately 200 software engineers, database engineers and test personnel.

Eleven companies located in Maryland will team with CSC. They include BDM Federal Inc., Booz-Allen & Hamilton Inc., COMSO Inc., J.G. Van Dyke & Associates Inc., Keane Federal Systems Inc., ManTechAdvanced Systems International Inc., SAIC, Technical Software Services, TRW Systems Service Co. and Unisys Corp.

Computer Sciences Corp. had $3.6 billion in annual revenues for the 12 months ended June 30, 1995. The company has headquarters in El Segundo and 33,000 employees in 575 offices worldwide.
