:CSC) has been selected to provide software and hardware enhancements in support of the Navy's Enhanced Naval Warfare naval warfare

Military operations conducted on, under, or over the sea and waged against other seagoing vessels or targets on land or in the air. The earliest naval attacks were raids by the armed men of a tribe or town using fishing boats or merchant ships.

The contract has a base-year value of $4.78 million and three option years for a total potential value of $15.6 million if all options are exercised.

CSC will be responsible for developing software and hardware enhancements and providing maintenance support, systems integration and implementation of the ENWGS. The contract was awarded by the Naval Command, Control and Ocean Surveillance Center The Naval Command, Control and Ocean Surveillance Center (NCCOSC) is the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command's (SPAWAR's) warfare center for command, control, communications, and ocean surveillance. , Research & Development, Test & Evaluation Division, with headquarters in San Diego.

ENWGS is a theater-level interactive simulation of the naval warfare environment that is used to support the Navy training community.

The contract will be supported by engineers and specialists assigned to CSC's Systems Engineering Division, Falls Church, which operates a System Services and Technologies Center in San Diego. The division leads the company's activities in support of the defense, intelligence and international market sectors.

Working with CSC as subcontractors on the contract will be Sierra Cybernetics cybernetics [Gr.,=steersman], term coined by American mathematician Norbert Wiener to refer to the general analysis of control systems and communication systems in living organisms and machines. , Yorba Linda, Calif., and Advanced Telecommunications Inc., San Diego.
